A macaw is a … A macaw is a of a lot of bird… especially compared to a cockatiel. They are very large, strong, intelligent, noisy, demanding birds. Huge step from a cockatiel. You may want to looking into a small or medium parrot before going all the way to a macaw. Senegals, Conures, African Grays, and Amazons are great mid sized birds and very capable. But being smaller, they won’t require so much space, cage, noise, and bite…
In my other videos I show how to train these tricks. Click “more info”
i am in the market … i am in the market for a macaw and i would like to be able to train him. I have a cockatiel right now that is about 15 , he doesnt do a whole bunch but he was my grandpas. he has passed away as of about 4 years ago and “buster” was his bird… But I would love to have a red macaw. if there is anything you could tell me about bird training, it would be greatly appreciated…….. Great job with your pet training by the way……Thanks
I have the same … I have the same parrot, and she kinda seems ADD, but she’s a blast. I often have her on my shoulder while on the computer and now she mimicks the sound of my mouse wheel among other things.
I have a male … I have a male Senegal, and the only behaviors that he and Kili have in common is getting head skritches and eating treats. Marvelous!!!
God bless Kili and … God bless Kili and his/her trainer/owner. Please protect Kili while outside because there are hawks just waiting to grab a colorful little bird for lunch.
My Senegal parrot … My Senegal parrot is just over 1 year old and learned all this because I have been training her just about every day since I got her. I suggest you start by clicker conditioning your bird and target training. You can find videos of us training this to our budgie. The Senegal Parrot is smarter and will probably catch on quickly.
